The Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011) makes CE marking mandatory for all construction products covered by a harmonised standard. For steel and aluminium structural components the harmonised standard is EN 1090-1, which requires system 2+ conformity assessment: the manufacturer's factory production control (FPC) is certified by a Notified Body.
Scope
- Determining which harmonised standard and assessment system (1+, 1, 2+, 3, 4) the product falls under
- Organisation of initial type testing / type calculation (ITT/ITC)
- Establishing and documenting the FPC system
- Preparation of the Declaration of Performance (DoP) and CE label
- Coordination of the Notified Body FPC audit and annual surveillance
- Manufacturer certification support for steel sections, plates and hollow sections (EN 10025, EN 10219, EN 10210)
