Third-party inspection is the verification, at every stage, of a product's conformity to design, specification and standards by an organisation independent of both the manufacturer and the client. It reduces risk for investors, EPC contractors and end users and ensures non-conformities are detected early.
Inspection stages
- Kick-off meeting: Review of ITP, quality plan, WPS/WPQR, welder and NDT personnel certificates
- Material receipt: Certificate (EN 10204 3.1/3.2) verification, marking and traceability
- Fabrication: Cutting, bevelling, fit-up, welding parameters, in-process checks
- Non-destructive testing: Witnessing of NDT, report review
- Dimensional control and surface preparation/painting
- Final inspection and pre-shipment (FAT): Witnessing pressure tests, packing, documentation
- Erection and commissioning: Site welds, bolted connections, alignment
Deliverables
Daily/weekly inspection reports, non-conformity reports (NCR), witness test records, release notes and final documentation (MRB) checklist.
