Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions about our certification, inspection and welding technology services.
Third-party inspection is the verification of a product's conformity to design, specification and standards by an organisation independent of both the manufacturer and the client. It reduces risk for investors and end users, ensures non-conformities are caught during fabrication, and is mandatory in many tender, insurance and financing processes.
You need an established factory production control (FPC) system, a welding coordinator (EN ISO 14731) appropriate to the execution class (EXC), qualified WPS/WPQRs covering the production scope, valid welder certificates (EN ISO 9606-1), calibrated measuring equipment and material traceability. EN ISO 3834 compliance is required for EXC2 and above.
EN ISO 9606-1 certificates are valid for 2 or 3 years depending on the chosen revalidation method, provided they are confirmed every 6 months by the welding coordinator or employer. The certificate lapses if the welder has not welded with the relevant process for more than 6 months. AWS D1.1 certificates can remain valid indefinitely with 6-monthly continuity records.
The method is chosen according to the material (magnetic/non-magnetic), thickness, type of flaw sought (surface/volumetric), accessibility and the requirements of the product standard. In general, MT (ferromagnetic steel) or PT (stainless, aluminium) are used for surface flaws; UT (thickness above 8 mm) or RT (thin sections, pipelines, permanent record required) for internal flaws. We define the appropriate method and inspection percentage with you on every project.
A WPQR (Welding Procedure Qualification Record) is the record showing that a welding procedure has been qualified through a test piece and laboratory results; it is approved by the certification body. A WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) is the production instruction derived from that WPQR, containing the parameters the welder must follow (current, voltage, speed, preheat, consumables). Several WPSs can be derived from one WPQR within its range of qualification.
Our headquarters is in İzmir; our field teams serve Manisa, Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, Balıkesir and the whole Aegean Region. On a project basis we also work across Türkiye and at fabrication/erection sites abroad.
The type of service (inspection, NDT, WPQR, certification etc.), the relevant standard and specification, material and thickness information, approximate quantities, project location and timeline are sufficient. Sharing drawings or an ITP speeds up our quotation. You can use our quote form or message us on WhatsApp.
The choice depends on the product standard, the safety criticality of the fabrication and customer requirements. EN 1090-2 EXC3/EXC4, EN 15085 CL1/CL2 and pressure equipment manufacturing usually require 3834-2 (comprehensive); 3834-3 (standard) may suffice for EXC2; 3834-4 (elementary) applies to EXC1 and simple fabrications. We determine the most suitable level for you in the scope analysis.
